About this listing
Umeå Flygklubb was founded in 1940 and is one of the larger flying clubs in northern Sweden. It is based in its own hangar and clubhouse on the eastern side of Umeå Airport. The club's declared flight school trains for the PPL and national ultralight (UL) certificates and offers the night rating as further training, with a theory course that starts each September. It owns two IFR-equipped aircraft, a Piper PA-28-161 Warrior and a Cessna 182 with an SMA diesel engine, and has the use of a Jabiru ultralight by agreement. Members also fly forest fire patrols and with the Voluntary Flying Corps.
