Halmstad Flygklubb was founded in 1936 and has its clubhouse and hangars about 300 metres west of Halmstad City Airport, around 3 km from the city centre. The club has about 90 members, who fly around 800 hours a year in its aircraft. Its declared flight school is run with the club's own instructors and aircraft, with theory from mid-September to May alongside practical training, and it covers the PPL and the night rating. Basic training uses an Evektor EV-97 SportStar, while a Bristell B23 and a Piper PA-28 are used for further training. Members also fly missions through the Voluntary Flying Corps.
